With a longstanding presence in the Nashville area, The Temple Cemetery has been a cornerstone of Jewish faith and community since the mid-1800s. One of the longstanding traditions of honoring veterans on Memorial Day is the solemn practice of placing American flags on their grave sites, a gesture that symbolizes gratitude and remembrance for their service and sacrifice. CIMS makes it easy to generate lists and maps that speed up the process and ensure accurate flag placement.

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) is an important tool for cemetery managers, offering a non-invasive and highly effective method for locating objects underground. Unlike traditional surveying techniques that may require digging and excavation, GPR allows for the detection of buried objects, including unknown burial locations, hidden artifacts, and utility lines, without disturbing the landscape.

It can be hard to manage cemetery maintenance when there are a multitude of maintenance operations for field staff to execute. Office staff needs to be able to track and manage these work orders to ensure that cemetery operations continue running smoothly.

The CIMS team gained a new member with the addition of Caitlyn Joy in January. With six years of cemetery-related experience across various roles, including Assistant Cemetery Manager, Caitlyn brings a wealth of industry experience and knowledge that makes her an invaluable asset to the team. We’re thrilled to have her on board!

The CIMS User Conferences was back in the Wisconsin Dells for 2023. This event has grown to 88 cemeterian attendees and over 100 people in total when including CIMS and Ramaker staff members. The CIMS team had a great tine catching up with everyone, but if you weren’t able to make this year’s event, here is a summary of some of the key takeaways from this year’s conference:

As technology continues to evolve, we are constantly expanding our capabilities to meet the needs of modern cemetery managers. One new technology we have been implementing lately? 360-degree drone imaging. This technique allows us to create interactive virtual replicas of your cemetery for staff and visitors to utilize, giving them the ability to drop into any point in the cemetery and view it as if they were on the grounds.

Sarah Dailey joined the CIMS team as a Web Software Developer in the summer of 2023. She has experience developing websites and web systems in the e-commerce market where she managed 3 websites with different systems of taxation, payment collection, and product offerings.
